Queens Tourism Council to Enhance US Open Experience with Information Kiosk

The Queens Tourism Council is set to enhance the US Open experience for tennis fans by operating an information kiosk at the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center. This initiative will provide visitors with valuable tips and advice on what to do in the borough of Queens during the final grand slam event of the year, which is scheduled to take place from August 26 to September 8.

This marks the 12th time that the Queens Tourism Council has been given the opportunity by the United States Tennis Association (USTA) to set up an information and referral center at the US Open. The practice was first introduced during the 2012 tournament and has since become a valuable resource for attendees.

Throughout the duration of the US Open, members of the Queens Tourism Council will be present at the kiosk to offer recommendations on local attractions, including restaurants, hotels, cultural organizations, and shopping destinations. Moreover, the kiosk will feature a QR code that directs visitors to a website containing tips about great restaurants along the 7 train.

Operated by volunteers who are residents of the area, the information kiosk will provide visitors with Queens In Your Pocket guidebooks, a restaurant guide from the Queens Chamber of Commerce, and promotional materials from local cultural institutions such as Flushing Town Hall. Queens Center tote bags will also be made available to attendees.

The launch of the 2024 tourism information kiosk was celebrated by a gathering of local leaders, elected officials, and representatives from the Queens Tourism Council at the National Tennis Center on August 21. Council Member Sandra Ung, Сommunity Вoard 3 Chair Frank Taylor, Queens Economic Development Corporation Executive Director Seth Bornstein, and Rob MacKay, Director of Queens Tourism Council, were among the attendees.

Located north of the food court between Arthur Ashe and Louis Armstrong Stadiums, the information kiosk will remain in operation for the entire two-week duration of the US Open. Tennis fans can visit the kiosk to gain valuable insights about the best attractions and experiences that Queens has to offer.

Informacijsku kućicu će voditi volonteri koji su stanovnici područja, a posjetitelji će dobiti vodiče Queens In Your Pocket, vodič restorana Queens Chamber of Commerce i promotivne materijale lokalnih kulturnih ustanova poput Flushing Town Hall-a.
