The Annual Assembly of Travel Agencies, UHPA, commenced in Umag with an exciting announcement. Istria has been designated as the recommended destination by the Association of Croatian Travel Agencies for the year 2024. This news was greeted with enthusiasm at the opening ceremony of the Days of UHPA, which is being held from March 19th to 21st at the Residence Garden Istra Plava Laguna hotel in Umag.
The collaboration between UHPA and the Tourist Board of the Istria County was solidified with the signing of a business cooperation agreement. This partnership aims to develop new and specific tourist programs in Istria, enhance promotion of the destination, and increase tourist spending. The goal is to draw more attention to the region and highlight its interior and the possibilities of organized arrivals.
Denis Ivošević, the director of the Tourist Board of Istria County, expressed his excitement about the partnership, stating, “UHPA is a very important partner and support for us over the years, and with additional partnership this year, we have opened the door to new possibilities for jointly presenting Istrian specialties.”
The President of UHPA, Tomislav Fain, also shared his optimism about the upcoming season and the state of agency business in Croatia. Despite the challenges faced by the tourism industry, Fain believes that being concrete, positive, and offering high-quality services is crucial in welcoming guests. He highlighted the increasing demand from domestic travelers for both domestic and international travel arrangements.
The return of Asian tourist groups is also evident, setting a positive outlook for the pre-season and throughout the year. Fain emphasized the importance of following trends, adapting, stimulating demand, and promoting sustainability in the industry.
Participants of the Days of UHPA will have the opportunity to attend presentations, panel discussions, and engage in discussions with directors of foreign tourist representations and service providers. Additionally, they will have the chance to explore the destinations and tourist offerings of Umag and the Istria County.
The designation of Istria as the recommended destination by UHPA is a significant recognition of its tourism potential. With continued collaboration and innovative initiatives, Istria is set to solidify its position as a top-notch destination with a wide range of products.
Godišnja skupština putničkih agencija, UHPA, započela je u Umagu sa uzbudljivom najavom. Istra je od strane Udruge hrvatskih putničkih agencija proglašena preporučenom destinacijom za godinu 2024. Ova vijest je sa oduševljenjem dočekana na svečanom otvorenju Dana UHPA, koji se održava od 19. do 21. ožujka u hotelu Residence Garden Istra Plava Laguna u Umagu.
Suradnja između UHPA-e i Turističke zajednice Istarske županije potvrđena je potpisom sporazuma o poslovnoj suradnji. Ova suradnja ima za cilj razvoj novih i specifičnih turističkih programa u Istri, povećanje promocije destinacije i turističkog trošenja. Cilj je privući više pažnje na regiju i istaknuti njezin unutrašnjost i mogućnosti organiziranih dolazaka.

Unatoč izazovima s kojima se suočava turistička industrija, Fain vjeruje da je bitno biti konkretni, pozitivni i pružati visokokvalitetne usluge u dočeku gostiju. Istaknuo je i povećanu potražnju domaćih putnika za domaćim i međunarodnim putovanjima.
Povratak azijskih turističkih grupa također je vidljiv, što stvara pozitivan izgled za predsezoni i kroz cijelu godinu. Fain je naglasio važnost praćenja trendova, prilagođavanja, poticanja potražnje i promicanja održivosti u industriji.
Sudionici Dana UHPA-e imat će priliku prisustvovati prezentacijama, panel-raspravama i sudjelovati u raspravama s direktorima stranih turističkih predstavništava i pružateljima usluga. Također, imat će priliku istražiti destinacije i turističku ponudu Umaga i Istarske županije.
Proglašenje Istre preporučenom destinacijom od strane UHPA-e značajno je priznanje njezinog turističkog potencijala. Nastavkom suradnje i inovativnih inicijativa, Istra će svoj položaj kao vrhunska destinacija s raznovrsnim proizvodima zacementirati.
