Kerala budget boosts tourism with significant investment and new initiatives

The recently announced Kerala budget has demonstrated a strong commitment to the development and promotion of tourism in the state. With an allocation of ₹351.42 crore, the government aims to complete ongoing projects and introduce new initiatives across various key sectors.

Rather than relying on direct quotes, it can be stated that the Minister of Tourism, PA Mohamed Riyas, emphasized the budget’s focus on scaling up infrastructure in promising segments such as convention tourism, heritage, and eco-tourism. This strategic approach aims to generate increased revenue and job opportunities within the sector.

One notable proposal is the introduction of a low-interest loan scheme in collaboration with the Kerala Financial Corporation. The anticipated investment of ₹5,000 crore will contribute to the growth of tourism infrastructure. The scheme aims to create an additional 10,000 hotel rooms within three years and establish world-class convention centers to meet future demand.

To enhance the overall tourism experience in Kerala, the budget has also proposed the development of mini marinas and yacht hubs. These facilities, located in Alappuzha, Beypore, Kochi, and Kollam, will include various amenities such as resting centers, restaurants, motels, and minor entertainment activities.

Furthermore, the budget has allocated funds for improving tourism facilities, marketing, heritage preservation, responsible tourism, subsidies, incentives, skill development, eco-tourism, and the Champions Boat League. These allocations demonstrate a well-rounded approach to enhancing different aspects of the tourism industry in Kerala.

Lastly, the budget has recognized the significance of heritage projects by providing an additional ₹14 crore for the Muziris Heritage Project and ₹2 crore for the Thenmala Eco-Tourism Project.

With these significant investments and new initiatives, Kerala is taking bold steps to position itself as a world-class tourist destination. The budget’s focus on infrastructure development and sector-specific allocations reflects a clear vision for the future growth of tourism in the state.

Nedavno objavljen proračun Keralе pokazuje snažan angažman u razvoju i promoviranju turizma u državi.

Ove objekte, smještene u Alappuzhi, Beyporeu, Kochiju i Kollamu, uključivat će razne pogodnosti poput odmorišta, restorana, motela i manjih zabavnih aktivnosti.
